40 participants from across the world joined CVEinAI’s 2nd online Awareness Webinar on 21 September 2026, reviewing the results of the project’s pilot course and looking ahead to its first full iteration.
Organised by the University of Padova, the session brought together partners to share outcomes from the pilot iteration of the course “Exploring AI from African and European Perspectives” delivered to students in Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, share testimonials from participants and facilitators, and introduce the first iteration course after the pilot, running from October 19 to November 20.
The speakers included:
- Laura Brandolin, University of Padova (UNIPD) – Introduction to the CVEinAI project
- Mildred Atieno Ayere,, Maseno University – CVE and why it matters across Sub-Saharan Africa
- André Carvalho, University of Padova (UNIPD) – Lessons from the pilot and the first iteration ahead
Of 631 applications to the pilot, 265 participants were onboarded, 97 completed at least 75% of the course (nearly double the target), and 54 achieved full certification. 90.5% reported improved intercultural awareness and 95.2% want more exchanges like it. Feedback has already shaped improvements for the next round, including simplified timezone-aware scheduling, automatic attendance tracking, and alumni facilitators from the pilot cohort.
